TITLE: 7-WEEK FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE PROGRAM FOR FRENCH TEACHERS

AUDIENCE GROUP: K-12 EDUCATORS WITH A BEGINNER LEVEL (A1-A2) IN FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

Description: French as a Second Language (FSL) Program for K-12 educators with a beginner level (A1-A2) in FSL. We will teach FSL. The objective will be to provide language tools and develop speaking ability and fluency for teachers in order to enrich their lesson content and improve their confidence in the classroom when teaching French. The teachers will be introduced to Little Sorbonne FSL Program which promotes speaking the French language as much as possible during the class and following a student centered learning approach.
PEDAGOGY AND PHILOSOPHY
We will provide lessons that respect the high standards of education that VSB teachers follow. The objectives are to:
1. Train teachers to develop their French speaking skills.
2. Build vocabulary and cover other advanced language questions that may arise.
3. Help and motivate teachers to improve their speaking skills in a friendly, dynamic and supportive environment.
4. Build confidence in the classroom environment when teaching in French.
We shall use many different pedagogical tools to improve the abilities of teachers in French.

Date: Starting Tuesday January 14th (to run for 7 weeks) and ending on Tuesday February 25th.

Presenter(s): Nicolas Lejeune, head of teaching at Little Sorbonne Language School, the French as a Second Language School in Vancouver specialized in teaching adult professionals. Nicolas is a professional French teacher (native speaker).
